Every newly hired associate is introduced to the firm by means of an orientation program conducted by an experienced associate who then becomes responsible for ensuring the new member's smooth adjustment to the demands of the firm's practice, and for providing continuous support and guidance in all professional matters. In each specific transaction, associates work closely with the supervising partner, thus gaining valuable knowledge and experience. The further development of technical and professional skills, and an awareness of the importance of teamwork, is advanced by participation in complex and challenging transactions involving different practice areas. Associates are strongly encouraged to share responsibility and participate in decision making processes. Associates are frequently given the opportunity to meet and communicate with clients, thus acquiring a better understanding of the transaction.
Training of associates is enhanced by technology: The latter are required to actively participate to the firms' Knowledge Management Systems and are given access to a constantly updated and expanded bibliography of all major Greek and international periodicals. Our firm has one of the largest and most complete law libraries in Greece, with more than 6,200 titles and subscriptions to more than 65 periodicals. A formal training program consisting of in-house seminars and presentations by other members, as well as participation in external seminars and conferences, is designed to supplement continuing education. Associates also get the opportunity to develop their academic experience by writing articles published in respected Greek and international sources.
All this happens in an environment influenced to an important degree by decisions associates themselves make. Associates develop and are expected to develop initiative by participating in the day-to-day decisions that influence their lives at work, and by being regularly informed about and contributing to meetings involving all firm members.
