Successful defense in high-stakes RES project development litigation by our Dispute Resolution team

Adam Iliou, senior associate, and Dimitris Andriopoulos, associate, members of our Dispute Resolution practice, recently represented an energy community and four other companies, developing small-scale solar PV projects in Western Greece. They successfully defended against a temporary order request filed before the Agrinio Single-Member Court of First Instance. This case is part of a recent trend where local communities resort to civil courts in an attempt to block the development and continuation of construction works for RES projects, alleging infringement on their absolute “right to personality” due to perceived environmental licensing inadequacies.
