Emmanuel Mastromanolis, partner of our firm and Assistant Professor at the Law School of the University of Athens participated as speaker in an intensive competition law training session for Greek judges sponsored by the European Commission’s DG Competition and organized by the Academy of European Law (ERA) at the National School of Judges (Thessaloniki) between 3 and 5 April 2019.
This was part of an EU-wide project addressed at national judges dealing with criminal sanctions for antitrust infringements, with public and private enforcement of antitrust law and with state aid cases at first and intermediate instance and aimed at training over 450 national judges from at least twelve member states. Emmanuel’s presentation dealt with the statute of limitations in competition law civil damages actions, as well as the quantification of damages and pass-on defenses in such actions. Associate Giorgos Vavatsioulas provided his support in the presentation of relative case studies to the Greek judges.
