Participation of ZEYA in the public consultation for the draft law implementing recast Trademarks Directive into Greek law

Our firm’s intellectual property practice group participated in the open public consultation launched by the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Development for the draft law to transpose the Directive (EU) 2015/2436 on the approximation of laws of the Member States relating to trade marks into Greek law. In particular, Konstantinos Logaras,  senior associate, specialising in intellectual property, expressed his views on various provisions of this important legislation for enterprises seeking to protect their brands in the Greek market. His comments touched, among others, on issues related to evidentiary requirements of genuine use of trademarks, mediation proceedings before the Greek Trademark Office, use and filing of trademarks with the consent of the owner and other issues pertaining to prosecution proceedings.
