Our firm’s dedicated insurance practice group participated in the open public consultation launched by the Greek Ministry of Finance for the draft law to implement the IDD (i.e. Directive 2016/97/ΕU on the distribution of insurance products) into Greek law. In particular, Takis Kakouris, partner specialising in insurance, expressed his views on various provisions of this important legislation for the insurance industry. His comments touched, among others, on issues related to definitions, rights of terminated intermediaries, professional requirements and related training, transfers of amounts due to insurers or customers, complaints, principles of the conduct of business, the content of insurance product information document and sanctions.
