Zepos & Yannopoulos co-sponsors the AMVER Awards Event 2017

Zepos & Yannopoulos co-sponsored the AMVER Awards Dinner on 2 November 2017. AMVER is the Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue, an international computer-based and voluntary ship reporting system, used worldwide by search and rescue authorities, using commercial ships to rescue people in distress at sea globally. The 2017 AMVER Awards Ceremony was organised by the International Propeller Club of US – Port of Piraeus, a non-profit charity association, in cooperation with the US Embassy in Athens and the US Coast Guard. More than 1,800 Greek Owned vessels managed by 229 Greek Ship Management Companies have received their award in the event. Special Rescue Awards were also presented to shipping companies that volunteered and saved lives in danger at sea. It is notable that Greek ships earned 932 Amver awards in 2009, which is the most by any country in the 52-year history of AMVER.
