Zepos & Yannopoulos successfully represented a major brewery in a complex litigation concerning special tax on beer. As a result of the litigation, the special tax in question was ruled to be incompatible with EU legislation on excise duty. The company is therefore entitled to receive a refund of the total disputed amount of tax of Euro 1,900,000, with interest calculated from the date on which the appeal was filed.
