Administrative, Public Procurement, Energy and Real Estate Law
Sofia Chatzigiannidou is a senior associate of our administrative practice. She was admitted to the Athens Bar in 2005 and joined our firm in 2006. Prior to joining our firm Sofia worked as a trainee at the General Court of the European Union.
Sofia focuses on energy, environmental and real estate law while she also has extensive experience in public procurement law.
Sofia is often involved in the environmental due diligence of industrial and other sites to be acquired in Greece, while she regularly advises clients on the environmental, planning and zoning requirements associated with the establishment of industrial sites and energy projects such as pipelines, wind parks and photovoltaic parks. Sofia has extensive experience on the administrative requirements and restrictions relating to the acquisition and development of real estate property in Greece and she regularly assists clients with the management of their real estate portfolio. Sofia’s environmental law practice includes advising international and domestic clients on issues relating to waste management and disposal, recycling and emissions’ trading.
In addition, Sofia has extensive experience in energy law. She regularly advises clients, most often international entities, on a wide array of energy law related issues, including electricity and natural gas regulation, financing and licensing requirements relating to the establishment and operation of RES projects in Greece. Finally, Sofia has significant experience in public procurement law regularly advising domestic and international clients on their participation in public tenders, the challenging of the decisions of the awarding authorities and the negotiation of contracts with the latter.
Sofia is admitted before the Court of Appeals and works in Greek, English and French.
