Our firm conducted a gap analysis study on the legal and regulatory framework re: private debt in Greece compared to that of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany. The study was commissioned by the Structural Reforms Support Service (SRSS) of the European Commission to support efforts of the Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management of the Ministry of Finance in reshaping the Greek legal framework on insolvency of individuals and households. The study records the findings of the analysis of the legislative and regulatory environment re: private debt issues in said EU Member States compared to the relevant Greek framework and proposes amendments for improvements to domestic legislation. The new law is on the tracks and is expected to positively impact the market; we are very pleased to have been part of the collective efforts to bring about these long awaited changes.
