Law 5170/2025 on short-term rentals and simplification of the process for establishing tourism businesses has been published, with effect from Monday, 20 January 2025. By virtue of the new law:Specifications for short-term rentals are provided, according to which, short-term accommodations must have natural lighting, ventilation and air conditioning, insurance, firefighting equipment, smoke detectors, and a first aid kit.In order to ensure compliance with such specifications, audits are carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, or jointly by representatives of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) and the Ministry.
