Our Tax Controversy & Litigation practice represented a private client before the Court of Appeals on an income tax adjustment.
The Court of Appeals reversed an income tax reassessment correcting the tax base of the private client we represented on grounds of existence of inbound bank transfers from foreign bank accounts. The Court held that since the sums that were the subject matter of the tax audit under review, were previously in deposit in joint bank accounts overseas, a tax base correction on grounds of a property increase coming from unknown or non-recurring sources could not be upheld.
The team included Dimitris Gialouris, partner, and Eirini Tsiosta, senior associate.
