Zepos & Yannopoulos, along with CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats, advised Axa Mediterranean Holding S.A (AXA) in the sale of its Greek subsidiary, AXA Insurance S.A., to Italian insurance group Generali. The transaction resulted to the transfer of the Life & Savings and Property & Casualty business for a consideration of € 167 million.
The transaction was first announced in December 2020 and was completed on 31 May 2021 following clearances granted by the competent regulatory authorities.
The Zepos & Yannopoulos team advised on the Greek parameters of the transaction and was led by Anastasia Makri, partner, Corporate, M&A and head of Insurance group, assisted by senior associate Smaragda Spyrou, associate Katerina Vogiatzi and of counsel Kitty Fragalexi; tax partners Elina Filippou and Alex Karopoulos, assisted by senior associate Elina Belouli, advised on the tax aspects.
